The Principal of the Esiteti Primary School monitors their performance and welfare. During holidays, the University Students can work at the Esiteti Primary School to save money.

For 2024 the community has offered to accept a decrease in their primary school fees support of US$20.- per student. They wish to be part of the project to educate Teachers, Nurses, Doctors, for the community.

Therefore, we can have an intake of 5 to 6 new university students every year in this project.

WHAT AADO IS DOING FOR RURAL WOMEN

The Afghan Australian Development Association (AADO) has been funding literacy courses for rural women in Afghanistan. These continued though 2021- 2022 under the Taliban regime with courses provided over 10-12 months of the year in village homes for groups of 20 women. On graduation the women were gifted sewing machine used in the course to help them earn a livelihood through dressmaking and repairs.

At the repeated requests of local authorities, another course for 100 women in 5 regional villages in the Qara Bagh District of Kabul Province commenced in May 2023 to run until February 2024. With reduced donations this set of village courses did not include the sewing machine component. The women are, however, requesting re-inclusion of tailoring- sewing alongside the literacy aspects of the village program.

Skal International Monaco has in the past supported one project for 20 women which included sewing machines to all students.

We are in the process of raising funds to support one project involving Solar Systems for agriculture in 2024 plus the education of how to instal and maintain the system.
